Elder Christopher Martin Arrives Home!

We have a Christopher sighting!!!! Elder Christopher Martin arrived home last night at 9:30 PM! He went immediately to visit (and meet) President Carlson, Stake President of the Valencia California Stake. President Carlson formally released him from full time missionary service. He looks great! Hopefully he can help me post some pictures. He says our Mission Home is small. It is about the same size as our home in Plano, but it is a single family dwelling.

News Flashes!

Well, I have some catching up to do on the blog. The first big news is the arrival of Lillian Boren. She came to join her (our) family on December 30th at around 11:30 AM (Mountain Standard Time). She weighed 7 lbs 4 ounces and was 18" long. She was born in American Fork, Utah. Her proud parents are Jenae and Brett. Her loving sisters are Ashlin and Rachel. She is the 13th grandchild for both sets of grandparents!!! She is darling!!! See Alyssa's post which is linked to ours for a cute picture of her (and her Aunt Alyssa too for that matter). I can't wait to get to hold her. I hope they can travel down for Spring break.

The second big news item is the impending arrival of Elder Christopher Martin!!! He is scheduled to arrive at the Bob Hope (Burbank, California) Airport next Wednesday night at around 9:20 PM. We are so excited to welcome him home. We haven't seen him in two years. He will leave the Dominican Republic early that morning and have layovers in Miami, Florida and Dallas, Texas. He will be released as a full time missionary by the Valencia Stake President. He will report his mission in the Newhall (California)1st Ward on January 30th. He will also get to stand in the circle when his newest nephew, Dallin Jerald Carroll is given his name and blessing that same day in our ward.

So, I guess that is our third big news event! For those who do not know the mission rules, Mission Presidents are not allowed to leave the mission boundaries. Therefore, the Carroll family (including the extended family) is coming here to Newhall to get baby Dallin blessed. He is such a cutie!!! Maybe Spencer can help me post some pictures on the blog of him and his brothers.
